The offered denarius was minted by one of the monetary triumvirs issued by Caesar. The relationship with the famous dictator is evidenced by the symbolism associated with Venus - the grandmother of the Julian family, who was the grandmother of Julus - the son of Aeneas and the progenitor of Julius. At the same time, the exceptional status of Cordius denarius is also expressed in the legend S (enatus) C (onsulto) on the obverse, indicating that it is most likely an additional issue, probably a war issue.
