Italian painter of the 20th century. Studied in Rovereto and in Venice with Guglielmo Ciardi and Emanuele Brugnoli. Contact with artists of the Ca' Pesaro group, including Umberto Moggioli, Lucilo Grassi, Tullio Garbari, Gino Rossi, Arturo Martini, Ugo Valeri. Lived in Italy in the 1910s, involvement with Futurism, including Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni, Primo Conti, Achille Lega, Emilio Notte, Ottone Rosai, Emilio Settimelli, Ardengo Soffici and Lucio Venna. In the 1920s, interest in abstract movements and Dadaism. In Berlin contact with Max Liebermann, Max Beckmann, Alexander Archipenko. In Hanover acquaintance with Justus Bier, Kurt Schwitters and Friedrick Vordemberge-Gildewart. In the 1930s participation in the 19th Venice Biennale and the exhibition Aeropittura by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti in Berlin. In addition to futuristic works, also works such as the net mending women with large, almost monochrome color surfaces. Simplicity, tranquility and the rural character are reminiscent of Mexican artists such as Diego Rivera.
