Obv. inner margin: Kalimah (lā ilāha illā Allāh Moḥammad rasūl Allāh). In the outer margin, the year in words, probably …87 (year AH 387 would be adequate to AD 997/8). Large parts of outer margins and not so much degraded legends speak for early coinage.
Gold, 1.01 g, 11.9 mm. Similar to Spinelli Tav. IA:4-5. Grade II-. Exceptionally good condition for this type.
Egyptian gold coins flowed to the south of Italy where they were imitated in the Lombard principalities (in records they were referred to as tarì buttumini).
